Brooklyn Tweed had a lot going for them when they approached us. Their products, photography, and social media presence were a cut above the rest. However, they lacked one crucial element which was holding back their incredible potential: an eCommerce website that did justice to their promising brand.

Collaborating with Jared (Founder and Creative Director) and Luigi (Head of Business Development) was nothing short of a treat for us. Their overall philosophy on design and presentation in addition to their high standard for excellence fell right in line with ours. From a strategy and design perspective, the biggest challenge was figuring out how to best showcase their products with a design that not only complimented their work but also inspired visitors to follow through with a purchase. Beyond this, however, laid a deep technical challenge which required a unique amount of planning and finesse.

Brooklyn Tweed's existing website included a mashup of static content and an inferior eCommerce solution that needed to be completely migrated to something that would better accommodate their rapidly expanding business. In addition they maintained extremely high traffic levels that needed to be accommodated throughout the migration and launch of their new site. Servers required close monitoring and scaling as we watched traffic and sales go through the roof upon the launch of their new site.

It was (and has continued to be) an extremely satisfying experience watching the fruits of our labor pay off on that launch day. Originally built in 2014 their website continues to be “praised by customers and industry associates as a golden standard of beauty and function.” / Luigi Boccia

We still regularly enjoy visiting brooklyntweed.com to see how their regularly updated product lines seamlessly compliment the layout and aesthetic of the website that we built for them. Above all we are most pleased and thankful for the opportunity we had to serve both Jared, Luigi, and the entire Brooklyn Tweed team in the best way we know how.

“The truth is that Jon and Kevin upped the level of their service, made themselves available to us any time of night and day and always gave priority to our issues by providing timely and effective solutions. We were impressed by this level of commitment after the project was over and are thankful to this day for all the time and support they provided to make us feel that they were proudly standing behind their work months after the project was over. This is what we would call outstanding, impeccable work ethics.”

An Ecommerce Focus

The product detail page is the home stretch of any eCommerce website. Creating a less than desirable experience risks the loss of a sale. Making the product detail page look and feel as attractive as the homepage (or any key page on the site) is of the utmost importance. Clean, intuitive, and flattering to the product was our aim to help solidify and confirm product sales every time.

Detail Oriented

Even upon a quick overview, it’s clear to see that every aspect of Brooklyn Tweed’s products have been carefully and intentionally crafted. We wanted to reflect this level of excellence in every detail of the website as well. When it comes to a minimal, product focused design, there is a fine line between “too much” and “too little”. Properly striking this balance is what has allowed Brooklyn Tweed’s website to stand the test of time.

In 2014 we decided it was time to give our company a website that represented our aesthetic values while providing our customers an enjoyable, educational and user-friendly platform. Jon and Kevin went beyond our expectations on both accounts by designing a website that is often praised by customers and industry associates as a golden standard of beauty and function. What led to the final product was a thorough, detailed, extremely collaborative approach that gave both parties the ability to listen, understand, discuss and come up with the best solutions on a visual as well as on a functionality level.

Jon and Kevin are truly great people: talented, professional, responsive, honest and dependable. They took the time to meet us in person and make sure that they knew what we were about and that we knew what they were about. We appreciated that they require a potential client to provide and extensive and detailed outline of the project, as it’s clear that by receiving all this information up front, they have the ability to honestly say to the client whether or not they are the best fit for the project.

What should also be pointed out is that their sincere care for the client’s project does not end upon the site being launched. We experienced quite a few issues during the first six months of our site’s life, i.e. some of the features functionality needed to the enhanced, our server’s needs were underestimated and other more-than-normal kinks that one would expect when releasing a quite complex and highly customized site like ours.

On a personal note, both Jon and Kevin are charming, intelligent, talented good people and by the time the website is well on its feet, saying good bye feels the same as bidding farewell to two friends whose company you have enjoyed all along. We highly recommend their services and we know that they will meet your expectations as they met ours. We will always be happy to hop on the phone for a reference and always eager to recommend their services to business associates who are looking for a great, collaborative team to work with for their website needs.
